Our VKS Quick Kava Premium and Quick Kava products are produced right here in Vanuatu using only the finest grades of "Borogu" or "Melo Melo" kava. We buy our kava for Quick Kava Premium and Quick kava in the islands at the fresh/green stage and it is hand selected. Apart from a full HPLC analysis, this is the only way we can guarantee species variety.
Generally, the Kava farmers will mix a whole range of less desirable species and dry them (in the sun). Once dried it is impossible to determine actual species. Kava is then shipped to Port Vila or Luganville at which time it is exported by other companies as Borogu or other better drinking species.....HOWEVER, due to the mixing of bad species the end product is no where near as good as 100% species specific Kava.
This is why our Kava is the best! There is a reason the locals do not drink the other varieties....they are very low in the "feel good" lactones and will leave you feeling either tired or sick the next day.
This is why we have our own facility right on Pentecost island - guaranteed ONLY the good species of Kava are used in all VKS products.
